James A. Ramsay, age 75, Springfield, formerly of Joplin, passed away at 1:08 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008 at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.
Jim was born October 11, 1932 in Joplin to the late Robert Ramsay and Harriette Writer Ramsay. He owned and operated the former Ramsay's Department Store in Joplin and was a veteran of the USA Navy.
Survivors include his daughter, DeeAnn Slimp and husband, Chuck, Springfield; one step son, Dean Rusk, Joplin; granddaughter, Nichole Thompson and husband, Chris; one step grandson, Caid Rusk; and three great granddaughters, Myra Thompson, Mikayla Walker, and Lilly Thompson.
Jim was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Walker, on November 1, 2007.
Private graveside services will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery.

James Ramsay, son of Robert C. Ramsay and Mrs. Harriett W. Ramsay, has entered Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, MO, for his junior year. This is his second year at the academy.
