TEN-TUSSCHER, Frans (Frank) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frans ten-Tusscher at the age of 80. He died peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Mourning his loss are his son Rudy ten-Tusscher and daughter Tricia CHATFIELD, and his wife Anne ten-Tusscher. During Frans' career as an accountant, he worked with O & K, Atomic Energy of Canada and as a private consultant. Frans exhibited a real zest for life evidenced by his multiple end-to-end trips along the Bruce Trail, his frequent presence on the dance scene in Kitchener, and a multitude of volunteer efforts. Frans was a dedicated Hospice of Waterloo and Freeport Health Centre volunteer, providing emotional and practical support to individuals with terminal illness and their families. He was a Fitness Instructor with Freeport’s WALC program, a volunteer driver for Raise Home Support and as an accountant, voluntarily completed hundreds of tax returns for low income seniors. Frans sat on the board of directors for the Waterloo Region Gerontology Interest Group, sat on the Elder Abuse Committee for Restorative Justice as well as the Elder Abuse Education Committee. His tremendous spirit and gentleness will be missed by his family and by those whose lives he touched. A Memorial Service will be held at THE SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL CENTRE , 1535 South Gateway Rd., Mississauga (Dixie Rd., 2 lights south of Eglinton Ave., 905-602-1580) on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at 1:30 p.m.
