John's baptism record indicates his parents are John Chatfield and Liliah, which I assume to be a misspelling or mispronounciation of Caelia, given the fact that there was no other John Chatfield having children in Ditchling at that time and his birth was approximately two years after the marriage of John and Caelia. It is possible that John and Caelia had children in another parish as there is a gap between John's birth in 1786 until 1791, when the next known child of John and Caelia was baptized in Ditchling.
