Narrative
Rose Mary CHATFIELD, 83, of Lancaster, went to be in the loving arms of her savior, Saturday, May 8, 2010. She was born April 28, 1927 in New Castle, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emeline and Paul Coffman; brothers, Edwin, Luther, Ralph, and Paul Coffman; and sister, Catherine Letzler.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, James Chatfield; daughter and son-in-law, Emeline and Ron Dillon; son and daughter-in-law, James Larry and Carrie Chatfield; grandchildren, Bob (Christina) Dillon, Christopher (Evelina) Dillon, Lucas CHATFIELD, and Melissa (Eric) Norton; several great grandchildren; sister, Florence Coffman; and several nieces and nephews.
Music was her passion; she was a Choir Director, Music Teacher, and sang for many years in the First United Methodist Church Choir and was a soloist in various choirs. She enjoyed playing the piano and the violin. She was a member and a past president of the Lancaster Music Club. She was a past Matron of the M.Z. Kreider Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women - Rebecca Circle and many other accomplishments.
Rose Mary was loved and cherished by everyone she was acquainted with. The family would like to express a special thank you to all at Crestview Nursing facility and the wonderful people and support from Hospice of Central Ohio, and the support of the wonderful people at Home Instead.
Caring Cremation has taken place with the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and a service of celebration of Rose Mary's life will take place Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 163 E Wheeling St, Lancaster. Committal will take place at a later date in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, Ohio.
