Dr. Thielke grew up in Boise, attended the University of Idaho, and was a graduate of the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry. Following graduation, he served two years in the US Navy Dental Corps, and was stationed at Mare Island and Moffett Naval Air Station in Northern California. He practiced general and cosmetic dentistry in the San Francisco Bay Area for 30 years, and had recently relocated to the Midwest.
Survivors include his mother, Thelma B. Thielke of Saratoga, Calif.; his brother, James of Tualatin, Ore.; and his children, David Station Thielke and Kathryn Barry Thielke of Los Altos, Calif.
