of Lancing, yeoman. Had Chappel-land and leasehold called "Oatlands" also "Oldlands" in Chiltington under Fr's will and exor. to same 1610. Named in will of bro. John of Ardingly, 1601. Exor. to bro George 1616. P'ff in fine for manor of grants, and tenements in Lancing Michs. 1623. Will dtd 11 Mar 1628, prd 1 Feb 1630 (Chichr 18. 46b). Legacies to poor of Stanmer, Fletching, Lancing and Westmeston.
Will dated 1628, proved 1647 mentions children Barnard and Mary.
