Ferryden Park Primary School opened its doors to around 350 students on 10 February 1953. It was originally named Woodville Gardens School.
Current sports teams are named Field (yellow), Ryan (red) and Gilbertson (blue) - named after Mrs June Field, Canteen and School council member; Mr Paddy Ryan, late member for Port Adelaide; and Mr Gilbertson, Chairman of School Council.
The playing fields are named Chatfield Playing Fields, named after Mr Jack CHATFIELD, a tireless volunteer worker for the school.
