CHATFIELD Agnes Chatfield age 84, of West Haven, wife of the late Frederick G. Chatfield passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 24, 2010.
Mother of Linda (Frederick) Scranton of Guilford and Barbara (Tony) Caserta of Trumbull. She is the grandmother of Jill Scranton of Quincy, Mass., and Liz Thurston and her husband Donald of Centerville, Va.. Agnes was predeceased by her brother, Edward Kerr Jr. and her sister, Jane DeMartino.
She was born in New Haven and was the daughter of the late Edward and Agnes Gilmour Kerr Sr. Agnes graduated from Commercial High in 1943 and later, she became a resident of West Haven for over 60 years. She retired from the West Haven City Hall, where she had been the Administrative Assistant in the Comptroller's office for 26 years. After retirement, she enjoyed sharing her love of European travel with her granddaughters.
