JOHN CHATFIELD, Ib (1661-1747): Anna (Harger) Chatfield md. John Chatfield on Feb 15, 1684, when she was fourteen years of age. From them were descended Amos Bronson Alcott, and his dau. Louisa May Alcott, the well-known authoress.

JOHN, son of George and Isabel CHATFIELD, came to Derby a single man; received his first grant of land, and engaged to occupy it, Oct, 10, 1684, and m. Anna, dau. of Jabez Harger, Feb. 5, 1684, when she lacked eighteen days of fourteen years of age. He was admitted an inhabitant in 1687. Children:

* 3. Abigail, b. Sept 16, 1693.

* 8. Ebenezer, b. July 4, 1703.
* 9. Solomon, b. Aug. 13, 1708.

The will of John CHATFIELD, dated Apr 12, 1739, and proved Mar 7, 1747/8, names his wife Anna, his sons John, Samuel, Ebenezer, and Solomon, and his dau.'s Mary Beats, Sarah Davis, and Abigail Johnson.
