ESCONDIDO, Calif. -- Marlin W. Brossart, 68, Escondido, died Tuesday, April 9, 9002, at his home from non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Education Scholarship Fund, California Center for the Arts, 340 N. Escondido Blvd., Escondido, CA 92025 or to the California Society of Mayflower Descendants, c/o Treasurer, 405 14th St., Terrace Level, Oakland, CA 94612.
Mr. Brossart was born on Aug. 8, 1933, in Muscatine.
He was a principal for 35 years at Escondido Union School District, retiring in 1996.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of North Inland Opera Guild, California Retired Teachers Association, American Legion, Descendents of the Mayflower Society and a life member of the Optimist Club. He served on the Board of Trustees of the California Center for the Arts, Board of Trustees of the Classical Academy Charter School and various positions on the Boards for the Mayflower Society and was the Treasurer General. He was a founding member of the Escondido Genealogical Society and a volunteer at the Family History Center.
His hobbies included genealogy, classical music, attending opera, computers and world travel.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; a son, Randy and his wife, Shawna, of Valley Center, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Kenny, Jennifer and Robby Brossart.
