PROSPECT — Mr. Robert A. Milton, age 95, of Prospect, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Beacon Brook Health Care Center in Naugatuck. He was the husband of 64 years to the late Bernice (Chatfield) Milton.
Mr. Milton was born in Cheshire, Conn., on June 28, 1917, a son of the late Ivan and Nellie (Bradley) Milton. He was retired from Reidville Tool, where he worked as a toolmaker for many years, and was also a former employee of Vickers Inc. for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Prospect Congregational Church and the American Legion and was a Mason. He was a founding member of the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Milton was a World War II USA Army veteran, having fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and was a recipient of a Purple Heart.
Mr. Milton is survived by a daughter, Susan Ostuno and her husband, Saverio, of Cheshire, Conn.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Thomas Robert Milton, a sister, Helen Humphrey, and four brothers, Alton Milton, Ivan Milton, Fred Milton and Loren Milton.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at the Prospect Congregational Church, Center Street, Prospect, Conn. Burial with full military honors will be in Prospect Cemetery. A calling hour will be held at the church on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m.
