Chester was a member of the 6th Co. of the 2nd Reg., CT Militia in Sep 1819.
Testator of Jun 24, 1875, he bequeaths: "to my wife, Cynthia Chatfield",. "four sons Philo, Harvey, Henry and Wilbur". and "to my grand-dau. Jennette E. Chatfield dau. of my son Eugene deceased, as a kindly remembrance to her.". He states he is "of the town and Co. of New Haven and state of CT".
