Raymond P. Chatfield went home to be with his Lord on September 10, 2014.
He was born December 12, 1939, in Washington, D.C. to Dr. Alonzo B. Chatfield and Ruth G. Chatfield.
He attended school in Washington and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. He started his career in banking at Riggs National Bank. In 1965, he moved to Pensacola where he continued his career in banking. He graduated from LSU School of Banking and helped establish and manage several new banks in Florida and Alabama. Before retiring, he was president and CEO of First Bank of Baldwin County, Robertsdale, Alabama. He had a passion for fishing and golfing. He worked at a private golf course after retirement for several years along with his golfing buddies. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, diehard Washington Redskin fan, jokester who could put a smile on your face and a good all around, likeable guy.
Left to cherish his memories. are his wife of 45 years, Ellen; his three children, Karen (Michael) Todd, David (Kim) CHATFIELD, and Stacey (Stuart) Poage; five grandchildren, Kirsten, Andrew, Brittney, Alexa and Ryan; two brothers, Dr. Al CHATFIELD, and William (Bill) Chatfield; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service, led by Rev. Jimmy Allen, will be held at Woodbine United Methodist Church, 5200 Woodbine Road, Pace, Florida, Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt love and appreciation to all the caregivers and staff at Creekside Memory Care Facility. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our loved one.
