With heavy hearts, at the age of 94, we announce the death of Rosalie Lowrie (Winslow, Arizona), who passed away on October 15, 2017.

Rosalie Lowrie went home to her Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 15, 2017. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22, at the First Baptist Church in Winslow.
She was born June 5, 1923, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Her parents were Charles and Florence Thornton. Rosalie graduated from Classen High School in 1941, and attended the University of Oklahoma for one year. She then received a Civil Service appointment as a clerk typist at Tinker Air Force Base.
In Oct. 1943, Rosalie and her mother and sister, JoAnne, moved to Winslow, where Rosalie went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad. Rosalie met her husband, Robert E. (Bob) Lowrie at work and they were married on Dec. 12, 1944. They were going to celebrate 65 years of marriage when Bob died in 2009.
Rosalie became a Christian at 12 years of age. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winslow for about 60 years. She served the church as director of the Sunday school and the Women’s Missionary Union among many other acts of service. She also served as president of P.E.O. Chapter N and belonged to the Women’s Club and the Winslow Memorial Auxiliary.
Rosalie is survived by her two daughters, Judith Ann Hogan (Orlin) and Janet Lee Boyle (Mark); two granddaughters, Leanne (Sam) Weldin and Dana (Travis) Trompke; four great grandchildren, Kristin and Samuel Weldin, and Megan and Tyler Trompke; her sister JoAnne Gartman; sister-in-law Helen Warmack; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
