I note from electoral rolls that Frederick and wife Winifred Muriel had moved to Havering by 1964 and still together.
Winifred Muriel Chatfield b.25/2/1920 died Jun.1980 Havering. Were they still together in 1980? Did Frederick notify her death? If not, is it known what happened between 1964 and 1980? Did they separate perhaps? (if so, he may have emigrated).
Did they have a child who'd maybe emigrated? If still together when Winifred died did he decide to emigrate too and live with this child?
I certainly feel that Alfred F. Chatfield born Dec.qtr.1918 and Frederick Chatfield bc.1918 are one and the same and that the likelihood is that either he emigrated some point after 1964 (when we know they were still together) or, indeed, it is even possible he is still alive (would be 95 now) or died sometime after 2005 when online records stop.
Lots of permutations and you might have family history which you haven't mentioned - certainly, it distinctly looks like Alfred F. and Frederick are one and the same and neither of these names appears in death indexes up to 2005.
