Graveside service for Kenneth Whaley, 66, of Crowville will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, October 14, 2005 at Harris Cemetery near Crowville under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Rev. Joe Hamilton will officiate the service.
He was born to the union of Lyle and Helen Fouty Whaley on April 21, 1939 in Fayette, OH and passed from this life Sunday, October 9, 2005 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro following a brief illness.
Mr. Whaley was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton, LA. He was a 1957 graduate of Gorham High School. After graduation, at age 17, Mr. Whaley joined the Air Force and retired after a long and purposeful career. He was a Shriner and married Bobbie Parker in 1970.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Margaret Curtis.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Bobbie Parker Whaley; three children Kevin Whaley, Penny Husser, Kenda Whaley; three great grandchildren Corey M. Cox, Stacy R. Ramey, Kayla R. Whaley; and one great-grandchild Alex Cox. He is also survived by five sisters Marsha Whaley of Lakeside, OH, Reba Harmon of Centennial, CO and Myrna Givin of Billings, MT, Wanda Whitted of Fayette, OH, Perecene Fenner of Atlanta, GA; two brothers Richard Whaley of Fayette, OH and Ronald V. Whaley of Mianisburg, OH; 24 nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
