Robert Owen Roy, 78, of 3307 1/2 West 4th Ave., Belle, died Monday at home after a long illness.
He was a retired chemist at Du Pont. He was a member of Judson Baptist Church, Belle. He was active with the Boy Scots of America. He was a native Maryland and was a 48-year resident of Belle.
Surviving: wife, Edna Marie; son, Robert O. Jr. of Christianburg, Va.; daughter, Donna Jean Roy Wallace of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; brother, Dwight of Frederick, Md.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Private service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Judson Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Meadows officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at Fidler Frame Funeral Home, Belle. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation be made to the Buckskin Council Boy Scouts of America.
