The son of Anson George Rawson and Frances "Fannie" Isbell, and a descendant of Edward Rawson, 1615-1693, Secretary of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, Myron Richard (AKA Richard Myron Rawson, his birth name) was a farmer.
His first marriage was to Mary L. Squires, the daughter of William and Susanna Squires, on 23 May 1855, in DeKalb Co., Indiana. Their first child, William A. Rawson, was born in 1863 in Noble Co., IN. Twins, born in 1865, did not survive infancy, and Mary died two years later, in 1867.
His second marriage was to Julia (Thomas) Curl, as her second husband, on 10 November 1867, also in Noble Co., IN. They lived in Kendallville with two daughters from her prior marriage, Anna and Carry, and her mother D. A. Thomas. She gave birth to Myron's second son, Edward O. Rawson., in October 1869. By 1880, Julia had also died, and Myron had moved to Sunfield, Eaton, MI.
Myron's last marriage was to Martha W. (Snider) McElroy, also as her second husband, on 25 December 1881, in Sunfield. They had one child, a daughter, Mary Agnes, born 20 September 1882, in Fork, Mecosta, MI. Sadly, Mary Agnes died just shy of the age of 17 in September 1899. Myron and Martha continued to live together until his death from heart disease at the age of 79.
