Evelyn J Crego born 1828 Onondaga County, NY died 29 Mar 1872 at Italy Valley, Yates, New York. He is the son of Stephen B Crego born 16 Mar 1804 Marcellus, Onondaga, New York died 1 Jun 1873 Conquest, Cayuga, New York and his first wife, Laura Green (1801-1840). He served in Co. B 188th NY and is buried in Italy Valley Cemetery " Crego Evelyn J. 1872 Mar 29 D ae 44/27 days [Civil War: Co. B, 188th NY]. His death was recorded in the Yates County Chronicle - 4 April 1872 - "Mr. Evelyn Crego, a highly esteemed citizen of Italy, died suddenly on Friday last, March 29th…at the age of forty-four years. He had been fourteen years a citizen of Italy…. He leaves a widow and three children, Carrie dying in 1864".
