CHATFIELD.-Sept. 10, at his residence, 7, Montpellier Crescent, Brighton, in the 78th year of his age, the Rev. Robert CHATFIELD, L.L.D., late vicar of Chatteris, and for more than 40 years a magistrate for the Isle of Ely and county of Cambridge.

Rev. Dr. CHATFIELD, vicar of Chatteris, gave his annual donation of beef and plum pudding to the scholars of the National School in that parish.

COLLECTANEA.
..... , Mr. CHATFIELD, who is the son of the Rev. Dr. CHATFIELD, of Chatteris, and represented himself as the son of a person of the name of Stocks, who is head farming man to Dr. CHATFIELD, that he had hurt his hand by a machine, and that he was come to Cambridge, to Mr Chatfield who gave witness a sovereign to get changed, and desired him to give the prisoner a crown, whilst witness was obtaining change, Mr. Chatfield came to him, and stated, that he had just received a letter from Chatteris, and he believed, n, Mr.Chatfield gave the prisoner half-a-crown; a few days afterwards the prisoner made a second application, but suspicions of the accuracy of his story having been excited, he did not obtain more money. The learned counsel then called James Heath, the, to Mr. CHATFIELD, for money, and the statement made by the prisoner, and Mr. Chatfield's giving him half-a-crown; this was on Saturday the 23d of May. On Monday following, the prisoner applied a second time at the college gates, and witness carried a note, - Mr. Chatfield corroborated the testimony of Heath.- Samuel Stocks, the labouringman upon Dr. Chatfield's farm, [proved that the prisoner was "no son of his" (laughter)". The prisoner's name was Nehemiah Clark, witness has a son named Joseph, who was, of Dr. Chatfield. - Alderman Abbott proved examining the prisoner's hand ; there was a scratch on the thumb, but nothing to warrant his admission into the hospital. Mr. Payne, tbe gaoler, also proved that the prisoner's name was Nehemiah Clark.- Guilty

ISLE OF ELY.
Rev. Dr. Chatfield; and on the day preceding Christmas day a liberal supply beef and mutton was distributed to every poor family of that parish, by that benevolent gentleman; and it is hoped every poor person partook of a good dinner on Christmas day in, Rev Dr. CHATFIELD, on behalf of the -Benevolent Society 'held in that town. The portion of scripture from whence he chose his text,"was'the 4th -chapter of the First Epistle John, and part the 7th verse, Beloved, let love one ' another: for love of God.'
