BILL THOMPSON DIES IN ACTION
Cpl. Bill Thompson, 30, a son of Ernest Thompson of Kansas City, Kan., was killed in action in the European theater April 8, his father has been notified.

Thompson, who enlisted in the army before Pearl Harbor, was born and raised in Trenton. He attended the local schools.

He went overseas in January after receiving infantry training in various camps in this county. Three brothers are also in the armed forces.

Surviving besides his father and stepmother are his widow, Mrs. Naomi Thompson of Manhattan Beach, Cal.; four brothers, Pfc. Jack P. Thompson, who is serving in the South Pacific, Pvt. G. E. Thompson, also in the European theater, Lt. Charles[Carl] A. Thompson, stationed at Warrensburg and Lloyd E. Thompson of Oklahoma; four sisters, Mrs. Wanda L. Kennedy and Mrs. Chester Lover[Lovell] of Route 5, Mrs. Margaret Grimes of Chillicothe and Romayne Thompson of Trenton.

Lt. Charles[Carl] Thompson was recently returned to the USA after he was released from an internment camp in a neutral country. He was navigator of a B17 which was shot down after a raid.
