CHATFIELD, Dr. Minotte M.Dr., 99, of Allentown, died April 19, 2014 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He was the husband of the late Ivoreen S. ( Smith ) Chatfield. Dr. Chatfield taught English at the Yale In China program from 1936-1938 and at Muhlenberg College from 1952 until 1980. Born in New Haven, CT, he was the son of the late Russell and Elizabeth ( McIntosh) Chatfield. He was a graduate of Yale University and Lehigh University Graduate School with a MA and PhD. Survivors: Daughter: Elizabeth Driver of Allentown, Grandson: Christopher James Driver of Lynchburg, VA, Granddaughter: Stephanie Gene Gates of Emmaus, Great-Granddaughter: Alexandra Elizabeth Gates of Coopersburg and Nieces and Nephews in New Hampshire, England and Germany.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, at 1 P.M. in the Egner Memorial Chapel at Muhlenberg College 2400 Chew St. Allentown. Viewing hours will be held on Friday, from 1:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. in the J. S. Burkholder Funeral Home 16th and Hamilton Sts. Allentown. Interment will be private.
