The Horsham Times (Vic. : Tuesday 14 October 1913)
St. John's Lutheran Church, Murton, was the scene of a pretty wedding on the 1st October, when Miss Emma Deutscher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Deutscher, of "The Avenue," was united in wedlock to Mr. T. F. CHATFIELD, of Kaniva, by Pastor Hiller. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a gown of ivory duchess satin, richly trimmed with lace, with a court train. An embroidered veil prettily arranged over a wreath of orange blossoms, and a shower bouquet of white camellias carried, gave a dainty finish to the toilette. The two bridesmaids, Miss Hilda Deutscher (sister of the bride), and Miss H. Kruger, wore dainty dresses of crepe de voile, embroidered in champagne shade, with white tagel hats, and carried bouquets of daffodils and poppies. They wore pendants of aquamarine, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. Thorsen (his nephew) as best man, with Mr. W. Deutscher as groomsman. As the bridal party left the church, the Wedding March was played by Miss M. Deutscher, sister of the bride.
