I found Emma as Laib in the 1900 and 1910 census and also in a city directory, all on Ancestry. Nothing for an Emma Loib.
Family Search often has the names misspelled.

EMMA LAIB CHATFIELD,
Mrs. Emma Laib CHATFIELD, 77, of 2114 Johnson Street, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday at the residence. She had been seriously ill for three weeks.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Didesch funeral home. The Rev. J. Howard Machlan, pastor of Grace Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Ashbury Methodist cemetery.
Mrs. Chatfield was born Feb. 2, 1872, at Sherill, the daughter of John and Mary Marty Laib. She came about 30 years ago to Dubuque.
Surviving are two brothers, Henry Geiger, of Dubuque, and Edward Geiger, of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sisters. Mrs. Lee Curtis, of Mason City, Ia., and Mrs. A.C. Cerney, of Dubuque, and a number of nieces. She was preceded by her husband, Charles CHATFIELD, on Dec. 17, 1941, her parents, one sister and one brother.
