Newfane Man Dies In Buffalo
A retired Newfane farmer, Walter G. Toland, 84, died Wednesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Constantine, 85 Chester St., Buffalo, after a long illness.
Mr. Toland, a native of Newfane, lived there 80 years on a small farm where he specialized in raising asparagus. He had been at his daughter's home in Buffalo since September. His wife, Lillian Morgan Toland, died several months ago.
Surviving are two sons, Harry B. Toland, Lockport and Richard Toland, Buffalo; three daughters, Mrs. Leo Garlock, Lockport; Mrs. Jospeh Schlitzer and Mrs. Joseph Constantine, Buffalo; eight grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Cora Trautman, Cadillac, Mich.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 o'clock at the funeral home of Clemens O. Gaul, 263 East Ave, Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery.
