He was born in Ashland, KY, a son of the late Garland E. and Nina Mobley Chatfield. He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Tami L. Chatfield who passed away on November 23, 2015, and his son, Jeffrey Lee Chatfield who passed away in 1991.
Jim was a loving husband and father. He was an avid UK basketball fan and animal lover especially his pets, Cloie and Joey.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, his high school sweetheart, Karen W. Chatfield.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service.
