Winlock--- A service will be conducted Wednesday at the Cattermole Funeral Home in Winlock for Clyde W. Mulford, 75, Who died Saturday, March 29, in St Helen Hospital.

Mulford was born July 9, 1910, in Chehalis, and moved to Winlock 10 years ago from Longview. He worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Manned a fire lookout station for 10 years and was a long-time employee of the Catermole Funeral Home of Winlock. Mulford belonged to the Winlock Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Lewis County Senior Citizens Bowling League, and the Winlock Senior Citizens, of which he was past president. Also, he was a member and past president of St. Urban Grange and received all seven Grange degrees.

Survivors include his wife, Lila at home; a daughter, Dr. Beatrice Mulford of St. Paul, Minn.; a son, Dan Mulford of Rainier, Oregon; seven brothers; a sister; and three grandchildren.
Pastor Ron Stroud will officiate at the 2 p.m. service followed by interment in the Winlock Cemetery.

Lila Mulford, 97, formerly of Berrien Springs, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2009, at the Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs, where friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Berrien Springs.

Lila was born March 6, 1911, in Crawford, Nebraska, the daughter of Oliver and Agnes (Waters) Meeds. She married Clyde Mulford, who preceded her in death in 1986. Lila had worked as a press operator and seamstress for a dry cleaning business. She was a member of the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church in Berrien Springs.

She is survived by a daughter, Joy Eddy of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sons--Jim Newkirk of Hiawassee, Georgia, and Don Climer of Washington; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, June Bordon of Falls Church, Virginia. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a half-brother, and six half-sisters.
