Eva was born Nov. 23, 1919 in Blairville, Mich. to Samuel and Laura (Blair) Nettleton. She grew up in Blairville and married Lionel Anderson of Rudyard, Mich. on Oct. 15, 1941. While waiting for Lionel to return from World War II, she worked in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. In 1949 they moved to St. Paul, Minn. where Eva worked at St. John's Hospital for many years. Upon retirement they moved to Pickford, Mich., where they enjoyed several years with family and friends. Due to declining health they returned to Minnesota to be near their daughters, living in the Cedars of Austin and Grand Meadow Health Care Center. Eva enjoyed all little children, she enjoyed being a homemaker, keeping her house, baking and entertaining. Eva accepted the Gospel in 1940, and remained true to her vows all her life. She is survived by daughters: Wanda (Jim) Irvine, Rochester, Minn., Laura Jean (Ray) Schwardt, Winnebago, Minn., Heather (Dean) Smith, Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; brother: Barney Nettleton; sister: Mary Anderson, and several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and a twin sister Edna.

Find A Grave Memorial# 11663373 ----- OBITUARY- Lionel Robert Anderson, 89, of Grand Meadow, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, at Meadow Manor Nursing Home. Lionel was born June 24, 1913, in Rudyard, Mich., to John and Margaret (McClarty) Anderson. He graduated from high school and served as a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. On Oct. 15, 1941, he married Eva Nettleton in St. Agnes, Mich. He was an employee of the U.S. Postal Services, living in Michigan and St. Paul. Following Lionel's retirement, the couple moved back to the Pickford and Rudyard, Mich. area where they lived until moving to Austin in 1998 to be near family. They moved to the Grand Meadow Healthcare Center earlier this year. Lionel was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, making maple syrup and picking blueberries. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. In 1940, he accepted the Gospel. Survivors include wife, Eva Anderson, Grand Meadow; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Jim Irvine, Dexter; Laura Jean and Ray Schwardt, Delaven; Heather and Dean Smith, Inver Grove Heights; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leslie, Cecil and Stanley; and sisters, May and Easter Lily.
