RITES FOR MRS. LODGE

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Lodge, 11 1/2 West Fifth, who died at a Topeka hospital Saturday, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Roberts-Blue funeral home conducted by the Rev. J. C. Brogan, pastor of the Grace Methodist church. Burial was in Memorial Lawn cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Gile, accompanied by Mrs. Glenn A. Blue, sang a duet. Pallbearers were Ed Weiland, Ed Davis, L. Rix, Chester Bishop, Harvey Keech and Koontz Fair.

Newton James Lodge, who lived on Route 2, Lebo, died Monday night at 10 o'clock at St. Mary's hospital. He had been sick for six weeks and had been at the hospital the past week.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed. The casket will be open at the Perrill-Wood Funeral home until the time of the services.

Mr. Lodge was born December 7, 1870 at Carthage, Mo., the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lodge. The family moved to Junction City 70 years ago and for the past 22 years, Mr. Lodge had lived near Lebo. He was married to Clara Baylor, March 10, 1898, at Keats. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Harold Keech, Anaheim, Calif., and Mrs. Myrtle Robinson, 217 East Randolph, Emporia; a brother, Ben Lodge, Douglas, Ariz.; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Fox, Junction City; Mrs. Will Sopher, Beatrice, Nebr., and Mrs. Dot Stevenson, Los Angeles, Calif.; and by three grandsons.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
