STEFFA - Alta M. Stefta, age 90, of 4149 Safford Road, died 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, June, 19, 1985, In Highview Retirement Home after a short Illness. She was born July 22, 1894, in Elva, daughter of Corwln and Ida Cook.

Alta lived 20 years In Rockford, coming, from DeKalb. She marrled Josiah Steffa In Shabbbna, Nov. 30, 1916. Housewife. Member Third Presbyterian Church, Harmony Circle, Order of Eastern Star. Survivors Include a nephew; and three nieces, all in California.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday; June 22.

Josiah W. Steffa, 81, 2827 Custer Ave., died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1973, in River Bluff Nursing Home after a long illness. Born Nov. 13, 1891, in Byron, Ill., son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Steffa. He lived nine years in Rockford coming from Dekalb. Married to the former Alta M. Cook in Shabbona Nov. 30, 1916.
Employed as supervisor by Dekalb Commercial Body Co. for 32 years. He was an express agent in Rockford from 1910-1917, and was at Camp Grant during World War 1. Member of the Masonic Lodge, Centerville, Iowa.
Survivors include his widow Alta; several nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.
