SOUTH COAST BULLETIN, SOUTHPORT, Wednesday 29 Mar 1950
Bill Gilmour, son of Mr. H. Gilmour of Stevens St., left Southport a week ago for New Guinea, where
he will assist in managing a plantation of his aunt's. He left by a boat which is owned by, and carrying goods for the company. His wife (she was Jennie Chatfield) who was to follow him as soon as she could get a passage, will probably arrive there before him, for rumour says that she left yesterday by plane. What a surprise for Bill when he lands there.
