PHOEBE ELLEN HUDSON died at her home on Scioto Trail near Lucasville Friday at 7:40 a. m., following an extended illness with complications. Her husband, Clinton O. Hudson, died just one week ago, Dec. 24, 1930. Mrs. Hudson was born Nov. 7, 1862. the daughter of Alex and Sarah Campbell, and was 68 years, 1 month and 26 days old. October 18, 1881, she was united in marriage to Clinton O. Hudson. Nine children were born to this union, two sons and seven daughters, all of whom survive: Charles A. of Columbus, Robert C. of Carthage, Ohio. Mrs. John Fontaine of Cliffdell, Wash., Mrs. Pearl Nagel of Wheelersburg, Mrs. Lloyd Mitchell of New Boston, Mrs. Thomas Lambert of Columbus, Mrs. Vance Duduit of Portsmouth, Mrs. Kendall Overturf of Lucasville, and Mrs. Walton Jarrell of Nanvoo. She also leaves twenty-six grandchildren and five great-grand-children. Mrs. Hudson had been a life-long resident of Scioto county and leaves a wide circle of friends to mourn her passing. She was a member of the United Brethren church; until recent years when she attended the Methodist church of Lucasvllle. The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m., with Rev. G. C. Reed of Lucasville officiating. Interment will be in the Lucasvllle cemetery under the direction of Howard Rockwell. Portsmouth Times, January 2, 1931 MRS.
