On the 17th inst. she went out as usual, in the evening, to meet her husband, and hearing his voice, she shouted, Agnes Chatfield was dismissed, and Lamb was fined 20s. and costs.

... and William John Chatfield were charged with stealing one overcoat, one jacket, two pairs of trousers, waistcoat, and pair of pants, property of George Bowra.— Prosecutor, a bootblack, 9, Bourne-street, identified the garments (produced) as his. They were safe on, them. Chatfield said he had not got the things, and witness could search him if he liked. Witness remarked that you could not find coats and trousers in waistcoat pockets, but he would like his back. Prisoners both denied any knowledge of the things, Gain had Chatfield with him, and she showed them what to move. Bowra's room was on the floor above her's, and the prisoners would not need to go upstairs at all in moving her things. She kept some things of her own in cupboard in Bowra's room, and on the, went to Chatfield's house his parents declared that he was out for the night, but after a painstaking search the house witness found him hidden under his father's bed, lying close against the wall, with bedclothes coming down the other side so as to make .....
