Stuart left behind his wife, Becky; sons, Hunter and Colton Lawson; his parents, Leonard and Shirley Lawson; his brother, Michael Lawson; his sisters, Debbie Olsen and Denise Hernandez; and many nieces and nephews who loved him very much. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Lawson, and niece, Michelle Lawson in 1987.

Stuart was a 1980 graduate of Livermore High School where he was a member of multiple sports teams. He graduated from Las Positas College and Cal State Hayward, earning degrees in Recreational Administration. He coached football and track teams at Livermore High School and worked for the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District and the Pleasanton Recreation Department, where he directed the Recreational Activities for the Developmentally Disabled (RADD) program – a group of young adults he cared deeply for. While working for the Pleasanton Recreation Department, he was in charge of a tennis program where he met his wife, Becky Hood. They recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. Stuart enjoyed gardening and fishing, but he especially liked joking and brought laughter everywhere he went.

Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 970 Mocho Avenue, Livermore, at 12:00PM on Friday, May 1.
