Funeral services for Darrell Kieffer, 74, of Pima, were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 10 a.m. at the Pima LDS Chapel by Bishop Tom Claridge. Concluding services followed in the Pima Cemetery.
Darrell was born March 5, 1929, in Hawthorne, Calif., to William and Eva Kieffer. At a young age, Darrell's family moved to Glenbar. He attended school in Pima and later served in the Army during the Korean conflict. Darrell returned to Pima and married Faye Long on December 5, 1952, in the Mesa Arizona Temple. He served as a Graham County Deputy Sheriff under Skeet Bowman. Darrell and Faye later moved to the Black River where he worked as a lineman for Phelps Dodge for 13 years, then returned to Pima.

Darrell was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints serving in the Pima First Ward. He was a former mayor of Pima, former chief of the Pima Volunteer Fire Dept., served on the Pima City Council for 12 years, and served as a clerk for Graham County Board of Supervisors. Darrell and Faye served three missions, serving two missions at the Promontory Ranch Mission, Promontory, Utah, and the Hairpin Ranch Mission, Jackson, Mont.; they also attended 24 different LDS Temples.
Survivors include his wife, Faye of Pima; children, Darla Patterson of Chandler, Monty Kieffer of Safford, Cindy Turner of Safford, and Tylene Miller of St. David; brother, Jerry Kieffer of Pima; Rohlene Pollock of Pima; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Arrangements were en-trusted to Bunker's Caldwell Chapel.
