141. Capt. Thomas Chatfield was born on 16 February 1621 in Fittleworth, Sussex West, England. He immigrated in 1639 to Guilford, New Haven Co., Connecticut, USA. He emigrated in 1639 from Pagham, Sussex West, England. Thomas died before 1687 at the age of 66 in Easthampton, Suffolk Co., New York, USA. He was born 16 Feb 1620/21, married 1648, and died 1687.

Emigrated to America in 1639 with brothers Francis and George.

Thomas was first in New Haven, where he married Anne Higginson, daughter of Rev. Frances Higginson in 1648 in Guilford, CT. He then moved from Guildford, having sold his property, to Easthampton, Long Island where he arrived before1659.

From the History of Long Island it is clear that he was not an original settler in Easthampton.

Capt. Thomas Chatfield and Ann (e) Higginson were married in 1648 in Guilford, New Haven Co., Connecticut, USA. Ann (e) Higginson, daughter of Francis Higginson and Ann Herbert, was born in 1626 in Claybrooke, Leicestershire, England. She was christened on 28 January 1626 in St Marys, Leicester, Leicestershire, England.
