She enjoyed all forms of crafts and would knit, quilt, crochet, or sew blankets and clothes for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Phyllis had a passion for gardening and excelled at caring for all forms of flowering plants. She especially took great pride in her gladiolas. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Addison, and would often donate her flowers to the church. She was also a member of the NYS Retired Teachers Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Steuben County Historical Society. She is survived by two daughters: Rebecca Harris of Addison, NY, Donna (RC) Trout of Papillion, NE; one son: David (Terry) Morseman of Altamont, NY; two sisters: Ruth King of Bath, NY, Helen (Paul) Tennies of Pittsfield, MA; one brother: Don (Dawn) Chatfield of Bath, NY; 7 grandchildren: Michael Morseman, Robert (Samantha) Morseman, Joshua( Michaela) Trout, Steven Daniels, Kelly McKeiver, Kristen Harris, Bradley (Wendy) Harris; and 10 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. He was born June 25, 1928 in Tuscarora to Edson and Jane Cornwell Morseman. He married Phyllis Chatfield on July 12, 1952 in Bath. He was a tinsmith who had 41 years of active service with Corning Glass Works. He retired in September 1985 from the Sullivan Park facility. He was a member of the Local 1000 American Flint Glassworkers Union, the New York State Conservation Officers Association. Other memberships included the National Riflemans Association, the Addison Fish and Game Club, the Steuben County Sheriff Association and the Addison Union Masonic Lodge #118 where he was a past master. He also belonged the Addison First Presbyterian Church and was a former elder of the church. He is survived by: his wife, two sons; David of Altmont and Philip of Papillion, Nebraska; daughters, Donna (Mrs. R. C. Trout) of Lavista, Nebraska and Rebecca Harris of Addison; sister Faye Garner of Orange Park, Fla.; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Flint Funeral Home in Addison with a Mesonic Memorial service being at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
