Ronald L. Chatfield, 73, retired U.S. Army, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bosque County Cowboy Church near Meridian. Interment: Meridian Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Lawson Funeral Home. He was born Oct. 14, 1940, in Franklin Furnace, Ohio.

Ronald L. Chatfield, 73, SFC retired, of Clifton, formerly of Meridian, passed away Friday, October 3, 2014, in a Waco hospital. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, October 6, at Lawson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 7, at the Bosque County Cowboy Church located at 7023 SH# 6 between Meridian and Clifton with Pastor Tater Paschal officiating. Interment will follow in Meridian Cemetery with full military honors. The Patriot Guard Riders of Texas will lead the procession to the cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Krueger Chatfield, of Clifton; sons: Brent Lee Chatfield and wife, Gale, of Gatesville, Mark Arnold Chatfield and wife, Lisa, of China Spring, Steven Chatfield and fiancée, Tonja, of Boerne, and Richard Norton, (whom they thought of as a son), of Meridian; grandchildren: Matthew Chatfield, of Buda, Megan Chatfield Gibson, of New Caney, D.J. Chatfield Gibson, of Gatesville, Dustin Chatfield, of Boerne, and Joshua Chatfield, of Valley Mills; great-grandchildren: Preston Segar, of Gatesville, Peyton Segar, of Gatesville, and Naomi Gibson, of New Caney; two half sisters; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
