Emily Jarvis Chatfield of Woburn, passed away on July 8, 2013 due to a 2 year long battle with breast cancer.
She was born in 1977 in Coatesville, PA, and married Jamie Chatfield in 2003 and gave birth to Kathleen in 2008. Emily is survived by her husband Jamie, daughter Katie, sister Amanda, and parents Alan and Nancy Jarvis of Downingtown, PA.
Emily attended Villa Maria Academy Lower School, and then graduated from Downingtown High School class of 1996. She graduated from University of Delaware as an English Education major in 1999, and received her master's degree in Children's Literature from Hollins University in Roanoke, VA. She taught for three years in Virginia, and then for 9 years at McCall Middle School in Winchester, MA. As an extremely loving and generous person, Emily's life revolved around her family, friends and students. She loved turtles, dogs, and traveling. A true Anglophile, she loved English gardens, high tea, and literature. In her spare moments she enjoyed gardening and writing children's poems.
Her memorial service will be held Saturday July 13 at the First Congregational Church of Winchester 21 Church St. Winchester, MA 01890. She will be missed by many.
