Obituary
KYRLE RUDSTON CHATFIELD, Civil Engineer, lost his life in April, the ship in which he was travelling back from Africa being torpedoed. He was in the Hardinge 1896-1899. The Gold Coast Gazette, May 1st, said : " Mr. K. R. Chatfield, Provincial Engineer, Public Works Department, had been in the service of this Government since November, 1911, previous to which he was an Assistant Engineer in the Public Works Department of Nigeria. He had recently acted as Deputy Director of Public Works and also as Director, and the ability which he displayed in all the appointments that he held gave abundant promise of a distinguished career."
