Head master of the Grammar School there 1669. A minor in fathers will 1638 and in uncle Richard's in same year. Called "clerk" in his will, dt. 16 Aug 1685, prd 14 June 1687 (P.C.C. 75 Fooke).

Conveyance (bargain and sale), in consideration of £72 10s., from Bernard Chatfield as above and Elizabeth his wife, and Henry Chatfield of Arundel, gent., their son, to Joseph Peckham of Steyning, cordwainer. WISTON/6530 19 Jan 1686
