BARRE - Richard Delbert Raymond, 59, of Pleasant Street, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at his home.
Born July 5, 1954, in St. Albans, he was the son of Stanley K. and Grace M. (Chatfield) Raymond.
He attended elementary school in Hinsdale, N.H., and graduated from Hinsdale High School and had served in the USA Army.
Until 1982, Raymond had lived in New Hampshire, moving to Barre in 1982.
On July 10, 1997, he married Tammy Fordham at the Hedding United Methodist Church in Barre.
In earlier years, he had worked for the former Jockey Hollow Restaurant in Barre, delivering food. He also was a health caretaker for Washington County.
In earlier years, Richard had attended St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre.
He enjoyed camping, picnics, cooking and playing his guitar. Times spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, were very special to him.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Raymond, of Barre; his daughter, Jessie Cantrell, and her husband, Christopher Sr., of East Barre; his son, Shawn Fordham, and his companion, Jamie Pace, of Barre; four grandchildren, Christopher Cantrell Jr., Conner Cantrell, Jackson Pace and Brianna Pace; his mother, Grace Raymond; a close family friend, Dorothy Palmenta; four brothers, Stanley Raymond, Donald Raymond, Larry Raymond and David Raymond; two sisters, Mary Raymond and Connie Fordham; two brothers-in-law, Stanley Fordham and Wilfred Fordham; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
His father, Stanley Raymond, and brother Ronald Raymond predeceased him.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. Entombment will take place in the Hooker and Whitcomb vault, to await later burial in the Berlin Corner Cemetery.
