James R. Chatfield, 69, of Hannibal, Missouri, died at 6:27 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal.
Memorial services with full Military Honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55 will be at 11 Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Standing on the Rock Ministries in Hannibal, Missouri. Rev. Lance Bonnell will officiate. The family is being served by James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services, Saturday at Standing on the Rock Ministries.
Mr. Chatfield was born December 3, 1943, in Hannibal, Missouri to Russell and Thelma Johnson Chatfield.
He was married to Marilyn Kay Bailey on November 20, 1961, in Philadelphia, Missouri. She preceded him in death September 3, 2010.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Paxton of Hannibal, MO; one son, Lee Chatfield (Tammy) of Maywood, MO; 5 grandchildren, Hailee Chatfield, Michael Reynolds (Abbey), Billy Joe Smith (Andrea), James D. Smith and Julienne Graupman (Derek); 7 great-grandchildren, Autumn, Cadence, Corbin, Raelyn, Emile, Kaelyn and Natalie; 1 sister, Ann Mitchell (Harry) of Philadelphia, MO; and 1 brother, Dean Chatfield (Anita) of Philadelphia, MO.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his son in law; Kevin Paxton.
Mr. Chatfield was a United States Navy Veteran. He worked in construction for many years. Mr. Chatfield was also a pastor and liked to study the Bible. He loved to eat out and enjoyed spending time with his family.
