Obituary
Nevada City native Wendall Henry Clark, 65, died Thursday at a Grass Valley medical facility.
Mr. Clark was born Dec 16, 1924, to the late Henry and Marguerite (Chatfield) Clark.
Mr. Clark was raised locally and graduated in 1943 from Nevada City High School.
He served in World War II as a shipfitter 2nd class for the U.S. Navy Reserve in the South Pacific area. In 1946, he began employment at the Miners Foundry for four years.
In 1950, Mr. Clark built and operated the Rock Creek Sawmill until 1963. He then became superintendent of the Bear River Sawmill in Grass Valley for seven years.
In 1975, he opened and operated Idaho-Maryland Fabrication Service until his death.
Mr. Clark was a past president of the Nevada City Lions, a member of the Nevada City Elks and the Nevada City Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife Rose; daughter Wendy Reuter of Grass Valley, son David of Nevada City; brothers Ellis of Burlingame and Jack of Grass Valley, and one granddaughter.
Burial will be at Sierra Memorial Lawn, in Nevada City.

Rose C. Clark, 67, of Nevada City died Saturday in a local medical facility.
Mrs. Clark was born Sept. 27, 1927, in Grass Valley to Cecil and Ruby(Scott) Hegarty. She married Wendall Clark on July 5, 1948, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Grass Valley. She worked as a bookkeeper and teller with Bank of America in Nevada City for 14 years.
She is survived by her son, David Scott Clark of Nevada City; daughter, Wendy Margurite Szura of Grass Vally; brother Jack Clark of Grass Valley; aunt and uncle Alec and Mel Scott of Grass Valley, and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendall Henry Clark, in 1989.
