Larry Hathaway
Larry L. Hathaway, 52, of Cedar Falls died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Born March 8, 1956, in Danville, he was the son of William and Edith Chatfield Hathaway. On Oct. 5, 1975, he married Sharon Wehrhan in Waverly. She died Dec. 20, 1980. On Jan. 29, 1983, he married Denise Lamoreux in Grimes. They later divorced. On Feb. 14, 1985, he married Phyllis Milder Dalbey in Waterloo.

Mr. Hathaway was employed with Wackenhut Security in Waterloo, providing security for John Deere.

He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Burlington and Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. He served his country in the Army and was a member of the Waterloo Elks Club.

Survivors include his third wife; two sons, Philip Hathaway of Watertown, S.D., and Dustyn Hathaway of San Francisco, Calif.; one daughter, Jenifer Hathaway of Iowa City; one stepson, Glenn Dalbey of Cedar Falls; one stepdaughter, Susan Dalbey of Olympia, Wash.; four grandchildren; and one half brother, Doug Wilson of Hemet, Calif.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his adoptive father and birth father.

The Mass of Christian burial for Mr. Hathaway will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Waterloo. Burial with military rites will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls.
