She was buried on 25 August 2015 in St Joseph's Cmtry., Bristol, Hartford Co., Connecticut, USA. Susan (Chatfield) Murphy, 61, of Willington, beloved wife of Kelly Murphy passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Susan was born in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Wilbert and Helen (Gaffney) Chatfield. She was raised in Bristol and attended Bristol Central High School, class of 1972. She also attended Northeastern University.
In addition to her husband, Susan is survived by her loving children, Ryan Labieniec of
Tolland, Ashley Murphy of Manchester, Brielle Monaghan and her husband Jesse of Yelm, WA, and Lauren, Kaitlin and Mackenzie Murphy of Willington. She also leaves behind a beloved brother, Robert Chatfield of Wolcott; a dear sister, Nancy Zagryn of RI; her mother-in-law, G. Madeline Murphy of Old Saybrook; brother and sister- in-laws, Michael and Nicolette Murphy of Old Saybrook and Kathleen and Jim Marinelli of Bristol, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Susan was predeceased by her father-in-law, William F. Murphy and two brothers, John and William.
Susan was a longtime, valued employee of UConn's College of Agriculture and the Red Rock Café of Storrs where many of her customers became lifelong friends and her colleagues were considered an extended family. Susan's passions lied in raising and supporting her children and spending time at her vacation home in Florida with friends and family. In her spare time, she loved interior decorating and making the most of life with family and friends. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 5 to 8 PM on Monday, August 24, 2015 at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Rd. (Rte. 195) Tolland, CT 06084. A Funeral Home Service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Bristol
