Hertz, Gustav Crane b 10 May 1918 Queens, Queens, New York d 24 Sep 1967 Vietnam Married Miss Strong. To their union was born 5 children. Gustav was a prisoner of the Viet Cong from 2 Feb 1965 until his death. In a letter from Nguyen Huu Tho, President of the Central Committee of the National Liberation Front, to Prince Sihanouck of Cambodia, dated 30 Oct 1967; Gustav's cause of death was Malaria. His remains were recovered several years later and confirmed through DNA match. He was employed by the USA Agency for International Development at the time of his death.
