Death Takes Pioneer Basin Newspaper Man
Basin Wyo., Sept. 7--(Special)--Lou Blakesley, a pioneer newspaper man of the Big Horn basin, passed away Monday night at his home in Basin following an extended illness. Mr. Blakesley came into the basin from the Lander country about the year 1893 and began publishing the Courier at Otto, which became a candidate for the county seat of Big Horn county. He was prominent in the affairs of the Republican party over a long period and held the offices of superintendent of water division No. 3, county clerk and county treasurer. He was holding the latter office at the time of his death. Funeral services will probably be deferred until the latter part of the week.
