Orange – Harriett C. Burmaster, 60, of 694 Royal Lane, wife of Charles A. Burmaster, died Saturday at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a lengthy illness. She was born in Woodbridge, Jan. 17, 1922, daughter of the late Henry and Mary Treat Chatfield. She had been a resident of Orange for the past 21 years, and previously lived in Seymour. She was a member of the Orange Congregational Church and a volunteer at Yale New Haven Hospital and the Connecticut Mental Health Center.

Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Donna B. Hill of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Dale B. Lynch of Orange and Carrie Burmaster of Baltimore, two brothers, Henry T. Chatfield and Horace M. Chatfield both of Seymour; two sisters, Olive Bissell of Bethany and Maye Sherrouse of Sulfur Springs Ark, and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Orange Congregational Church. Burial will be private.
