"I have no biological connection to this lady. I did see her once or twice, she was my step-dad's aunt. My step-dad (Gerald Raymond Houser) took me to visit his "Aunt Eed" a few years before her death. She was nearly blind, living by herself. She had a wonderful flower garden and even cooked for herself. I remember being amazed as she made a pot of tea and poured the cups without overflowing."

Elias was born to Dennis Martin and Adaline Hughes. He is age 6 in the 1880 census, living with his parents. He was married to Edith M. Chatfield on 22 Feb 1900 at Clio, MI. [book V06, page 307, record no. 4573] She was the daughter of Jefferson Chatfield and Elsie [Beaumont]. The newly weds can be found in the 1900 census of Montrose Twp., Genesee, Mich. His occupation is farmer.

Elias' farm is north off of W. Farrand Rd., west of Elms Rd. and east of Morrish Rd. Township 9 North, Range 5 East of Mich. Meridian, Section 12. It is just west of his fathers, section 18 in Vienna Township.
